Description
Delicious apple dumplings with a buttery, cinnamon-sugar sauce that bakes to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Crust:
- 2 large Granny Smith apples
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 (12 oz) can Mountain Dew soda
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Peel and core the apples, then cut each into 8 slices.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Wrap each apple slice in a crescent roll triangle, starting at the wide end and rolling to the point. Place in the baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined. Pour the mixture over the dumplings.
- Pour the Mountain Dew around the edges of the baking dish (not directly over the dumplings).
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve warm.
