- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup whole milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add butter and milk to the potatoes.
- Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk. Ensure potatoes are not overcooked to avoid a gummy texture.
