For the Crust:

  • 1 package King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 count)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half on the baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla, and egg yolk until smooth. Spread evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Place the top half of the rolls over the cream cheese layer. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  6. Whisk powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over the warm Danish before serving.
