For the Crust:
- 8 oz pasta (such as spaghetti or fettuccine)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add red pepper flakes and chopped parsley to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the pasta and mix well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- In a separate small pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add breadcrumbs and toast until golden brown, stirring frequently.
- Serve the pasta topped with toasted breadcrumbs for a garlic bread-inspired crunch.
