For the Crust:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix pumpkin puree, melted butter, egg, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and salt in a large bowl. Add yeast mixture and stir.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes, then cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  5. Roll tightly, slice into 12 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden. Cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.
