For the Crust:

  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Press tofu to remove excess water, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Toss tofu cubes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add tofu and cook until golden and crispy on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove tofu and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return tofu to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
