For the Crust:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Combine flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and knead into a soft dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle. Spread diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into 8 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
