For the Crust:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and knead into a soft dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Roll the dough into a rectangle. Spread diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 8 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
