For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternating with milk. Fold in apples and walnuts if using.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
