Air Fryer Pickles

  • Author: Home Chef

Description

Crispy, tangy air fryer pickles are the perfect snack or appetizer. These crunchy bites are coated in a seasoned breading and cooked to perfection in the air fryer for a healthier alternative to deep-fried pickles.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • For the pickles:
  • 1 jar (16 oz) dill pickle slices, drained and patted dry
  • For the coating:
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • For serving:
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dredge each pickle slice in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in egg, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Place breaded pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Lightly spray with cooking oil.
  5. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  6. Repeat with remaining pickles in batches.
  7. Mix ranch dressing with cayenne pepper (if using) for dipping. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let breaded pickles rest for 5 minutes before air frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container (reheat in air fryer for best texture).
