- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- 1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and diced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and diced onion; cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and Sriracha; stir to combine and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Mix in diced water chestnuts and sliced green onions; cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Spoon the chicken mixture into individual butter lettuce leaves and serve immediately.
Notes
For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of Sriracha. Pair with steamed rice for a complete meal.
